As shot on the 5D Mark II under test conditions at infinity, the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L is super-sharp, even at f/2.8. The sharpness of the 24-70mm f/2.8 L doesn't vary much except from diffraction at f/11 and smaller. It's just as sharp and contrasty at f/2.8 in the center as it is at f/8.
