My 2006 2.2 Diesel Titanium x mondeo is stuttering under low revs and shows up an EGR fault code and my mechanic says the faulty one is not the original. The engine has only done 80,000 miles, is it common to be on a third EGR already. If you follow the steel pipe to the rear right corner of the engine (right, when viewed from the front of the car), that's where the valve is located. I assume it is truly a PITA to remove the valve. Replacing the EGR valve step by step. – As a rule, the EGR valve is located in the upper area of the engine block directly in front of the so-called intake manifold. Since the EGR valve has a similar shape in all vehicle types, you can easily identify it. – Loosen the engine cover, if any. uhxEO.
