Call of Duty: World at War is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. It was released in 2008 and quickly became one of the most popular games in the Call of Duty franchise. But the question on many players’ minds is, “Is COD World at War still online?”
I'd rather see a Korean War or Vietnam War thing. Korean War was the first war with widespread use of helicopters that the US was involved in, besides having some interesting choices of weapon like the F-82 (literally two side-by-side P-51 Mustangs), as well as having the first jets. Also, gaming needs more A-1 Skyraiders and napalm.
COD WAW is a super solid game, the engine hasn't aged the best but it's still really fun. I really hope we get a COD WAW remastered in the future, it'd breath new life into World at War and probably get more people into it. Multiplayer is fun; albeit perk balance is very strange (Shades, Gas Mask, Fireproof not making you fireproof, Tossback).
no, it's still alive in 2020 and has enough active servers and players to enjoy the game. but of course it's not as popular as newer cod games, considering game's age (12). most servers are hosting team deathmatch and server rules are determined by admins who pay for them. check gametracker to see what servers are active for this game and which maps and modes are being played on.
The multiplayer on PC is almost dead and getting it to work is a royal pain in the ass due to it coming with an outdated version of punk buster anti cheat. There’s always at least 400 people online on 360 and upwards of 1000 during peak hours. You’ll find a TDM game without a problem. Moderate hackers compared to BO 1 and 2.
If you’re gonna play World at War, you have to have a different mindset than any other COD zombies game. It’s an entirely different type of game. It’s more about patience, camping, being strategic and the appeal to it is the atmosphere. It’s legitimately scary, and each COD game got progressively less scary afterwards.
WaW was my first call of duty so it holds a special place in my hears, and I am a huge zombies fan, but MW2 was the first i played extensive multiplayer on, so it is very near and dear to me as well. over time, WaW has aged better for me, but MW2 is probably number 3 or 4 on my all time faves list. 4. Call of Duty: Finest Hour In the mission "Underground Passage", the easter egg "Ghostly Room" among different items found, on the right side of the room is a teddy bear. The next mission, "Surrender at Aachen", has a teddy bear in the beginning of the mission. Once the player gets upstairs and opens the door, on the left side is a smaller room
It ain't legal hunting alligators down in the swamp, boy. The campaign is great and can be played with 4 people co-op. It's a lot of fun. It also has the first zombie game mode in the COD franchise, and maybe it's just that I didn't evolve with the whole Zombie thing but I think that first one is still the best. XNl7D.
